A Mississippi man already suspected in a murder reportedly has been indicted in the December 2014 burning death of a 19-year-old woman.
Quinton Tellis, 27, was indicted on capital murder charges Tuesday by a special grand jury in the death of Jessica Chambers, The Clarion-Ledger reported.
Tellis is currently being held in the Ouachita Parish Jail in Monroe, La. on charges connected to the August 2015 death of a University of Louisiana Monroe exchange student, the newspaper reported.
Authorities in Panola County, Miss. have scheduled a press conference about the case for 10:30 a.m. Wednesday.
Chambers was found on a back road shortly after 8 p.m. on Dec. 6, 2014, with burns covering more than 98 percent of her body.
When emergency responders arrived at the scene, Chambers was walking away from her burning vehicle and able to utter a few words to them about the attack -- though authorities have not said what, if anything, the young woman was able to communicate. She later died from her injuries at a hospital in Memphis.

that area of Mississippi is a cess pool and if you happen to be a poor white, you have very few choices...
This happened 14 months ago so they’ve had plenty of time to work on it. We also don’t know what she told the authorities before she passed. I suspect they have a real case.
Thugs not citizens like myself thank you, and I have met all kinds of females that thought I was that stereotype which later turned out they found I was a geek, never worked out with them.
If he did it, hang him.
Wow. My wife and I met at and graduated from ULM.
Actually, it’s less than 3% of the population, seeing as young black males are the ones doing almost all of it, and young black males comprise about 3% of the population, and of course not all of that segment are involved in violent crime. So less than 3%, doing over 50% of murders and robberies.
Mississippi ping
I wrote 4 or 5 articles on this disturbing, frustrating case last year, and my research broke key details nationwide.
I’m very happy about this indictment. Fingers crossed....
If he did do it, I pray that the authorities actually have to goods on him to convict, and that the case doesn’t have any holes in it for him to wiggle through.
What’s your source? The authorities are saying they had a relationship. After all this time, resources, work poured into cracking this case, they’re not going to say the two had a relationship without solid evidence of it.
Wow, finally. I thought I’d heard the last of this case.........I hope he gets a death sentence.
Glad to see the “Just us” Department and FBI were all over this one......14 months.......sheezzz......
For those who would like more insight into the situation, read the comments posted after this update on the arrest.
I guess the “nice guy” thing is universal. I always laugh when I see damaged middle-aged women grudgingly accept nice guys with jobs, after wasting years of prime youth on these useless punks.
As I recall the reporting on the casee initially, there were several clues that pointed to the punk boyfriend. Nothing conclusive, of course, but certainly suspicious.
In any case, it was a relationship that you knew wasn't going to end well...
No, you’re thinking of Bryan Rudd, the ex-boyfriend. This guy was not really on our radar much at all except as one of the overall gangsta thug community, but apparently there was some kind of relationship between him and Jessica, and the DA now says he was suspected from the beginning but they didn’t have evidence enough on him until now.
I wrote 4 or 5 articles on the case, a couple of them broke key details nationwide....very frustrating to not have any big breakthrough until now, fingers crossed....
thans. Appreciate the correction.
So he was only out of jail for a couple of months before the murder of Jessica...
