I find the number 2% Democrat to be completely bogus. I do not believe that only 2% of the voters were Democrat.

I can go along with you on that. But even if you concluded that all 22% of the independents were democrats (which would be an extremely high estimate), and Trump took 33% of them, then it would have accounted for a 7.2% bump for Trump, a 3.7% bump for Cruz (who got 17%), and a 4.1% bump for Rubio (who got 19%).

So, using my quick and terrible math, if every single independent was actually a cloak-and-dagger democrat, we're looking at maybe a 4% difference and Trump takes the state by +6 with everybody left over.

I regard the Democrats as one group, and the independents as another. I think Trump got the lion's share of vote from both Democrats *AND* Independents.

But we can see what is the truth if someone would find the numbers of registered voters who voted, and categorize them by party. Someone will probably do it eventually.
