Why Did Jeb Bush Lose? There Are Many Theories
NPR ^ | 2/22/16 | Sam Sanders

Posted on 02/22/2016 11:00:26 AM PST by jimbo123

After disappointing finishes in presidential nominating contests in Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina, Jeb Bush suspended his campaign for president Saturday night.

It was the end of a run that had seemed doomed for months: countless gaffes, merciless attacks from the likes of Donald Trump, seemingly limitless spending from a superPAC he couldn't control with horrible returns from those investments and perhaps above all, a candidate who seemed uncomfortable on the trail at best, and at worst, frustrated and unhappy.

Already, the post-mortems are almost writing themselves.

The same single reason Trump ascended - the illegal immigration issue.

NPR was hoping he'd win. He's their kinda guy.

The people at NPR don't seem to have a clue on many issues.

Jebbie is the equivalent of Teddy Kennedy.
The main difference is that Teddy's “ideals” kind of ran along the same lines as the Dem base. Jeb wouldn't know what Conservative voters want if you explained it to him 10 times a day for the rest of his life.

Would the Bushes have been more completely finished off if Jeb lost in the general? By leaving so early, maybe the Bushes are still alive, like the bad guy in a movie.

Did you read he was going home to eat cilantro and avocados?

Nope.. but "gone" is news enough for me.

If his no-English speaking wife Columbo wants to make him
a bowl of guac to snack on while she yells at him in Spanish
then I'm cool with that. He's got cooler stuff to do. Yep.

1. He was obtuse and anti-charismatic.
2. He was pro-amnesty.
3. He was the establishment embodied.
4. Guac bowls.

“Poorly run campaign with a weak candidate who was wrong on the issues.”

He paid his consultants and not his staff. They quit working for him. Pay me a buck, I will do what’s needed. Pay me 5 and I will die for you. Pay me 50 cents and I am not making the effort.

Was that her?
I thought she was the housekeeper from Days Inn trying to get back the towels Yeb! walked off with.

Occam’s Razor. He just sucked as a candidate. No more no less.

I blame the Chamber of Commerce for the Bush loss. Clearly, the filthy lucre of the CofC in GOP politics has been recognized by the base as the big problem that has blown up the immigration system.

“The citizens do not share his love of Mexico and Mexicans and do not want their country turned into North Mexico.”

My main reason was that he was willing to ignore our border laws just because he had a special feeling for the Mexicans. I have a special feeling for them too, never like to see people so defeated and down trodden. However, we are a nation of laws. We have watched as our laws were ignored, our flag was trampled on and sometimes burned.
Any person running for president should make a promise to uphold the laws of this country. Our Constitution is our law. Uphold it, honor it, abide the laws or GET OUT.
That also applies to Jeb Bush. No excuses.

He could’ve done something about 1 & 3.

Re: 2

He could have hyphenated it with his wife's last name.

If he couldn't even control his own backers then how would he be able to govern a whole country?

He pubically stated he could win the nomination without the base. That was the beginning of the problem.
