You have to admit he's been slightly more critical of Trump than the other two. Trump stubs his toe, ergo the Pope stuff, and Rush was discussing how that was dangerous turf for Trump to be waltzing in. Cruz and to a lesser degree Rubio get passes for things they or their campaigns have miffed, or they have been defended. But to this point, Rush hasn't gone hard on Trump as he did on McCain in 00 and 08 and or Romney in 12. But I think it's coming.

Through the fall, Rush was less critical of Trump, but has been turning since just before the Christmas break. The negatives on Trump are being discussed more and more in a negative light.

Trump was fun and useful early on. I don't think talk radio and Rush really saw or expected the success Trump has had to this point. And that is beginning to bother them and Rush. Many of Rush's jaw bone media brothers and sisters have been much more critical of Trump than has Rush to this point. But I expect it to notch up more and more as Trump has more and more success.

Talk radio loved Trump when he was a side show. Now he's taken over center ring and they aren't happy.

True. I think it no surprise that people who live in the ivory tower of “Conservative” punditry and talk radio have lost touch with the thoughts of average voters. It not like they interact with any of us on a day to day basis.

Trump is still a side show. But he’s become a frighteningly popular sideshow.
