Rick Tyler, the Senior Communications Advisor for Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), issued a public apology after spreading a false story reporting that Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) made a nasty comment to a Cruz staffer about the Bible.
"I want to apologize to Senator Marco Rubio for posting an inaccurate story about him here earlier today," Tyler wrote on Facebook after sharing the false story online. "The story misquoted a remark the Senator made to the staffer. I assumed wrongly that the story was correct."
The false report indicated that Rubio said that there were "not many answers" in the Bible -- when in fact, Rubio commented that "all the answers" were in the book of scripture.
Tyler indicated that he communicated with the Cruz staffer in the video, who explained that Rubio had made a "friendly and appropriate remark" about the Bible.
"Since the audio was unclear, I should not have assumed the story was correct," Tyler wrote. "I've deleted the post because I would not knowingly post a false story. But the fact remains that I did post it when I should have checked its accuracy first. I regret the mistake."

never claimed to be
I’m a hard working honest conservative tired of people who play games. Pretending you’re an intellectual or that there is any special value to “intellectuals” is an example of a lie.
Kinda like pretending on a reality TV show.

Breaking News: Cruz asks for national spokesman Rick Tyler’s resignation
Haha. Sounds like EVERYTHING is a lie to you except rah rah for Cruz.
Yeah, no doubt that makes Cruz’s adversaries happy.
Meanwhile, I’m curious about just how Rick Tyler’s nose was led to this captioned cheese/bait.
Another dirty evil lie by the fantasy writer.
I see you utilize a liberal's definition of "lying"; but I'm curious as to what additional "lies" you think Cruz has told. I keep asking this and not getting answers.
And itâs none of your business what goes on between and individual person and God.
Well, you might want to tell Trump he shouldn't be sharing such things, then. Some folks might think he means it and draw conclusions from it.
Self-righteousness cannot coexist with humility.
Hmmm. That makes it sound like you're not a Trump supporter after all.
Confirmation. You have an obsession with labeling anything not pro Cruz a lie.
Nope, besides you havent been talking about Cruz. you’ve been making statements about me.
I’ve openly stated there were things with Cruz I don’t like.
Thats what the primaries are for, not cheap idolization based on a personality.
Credit where it’s due! You just made a whole post without once using the words ‘lie’ or ‘liar’. Progress!
aww you are such an intellectual that you failed to miss the obvious
“Rubio walks through a hotel lobby, sees Cruzâs dad and a staffer, walks up to them and says something nice, including something positive about the Bible...
Then Cruzâs people run with an unbelievable story that says Rubio said something negative about the Bible.”
No, this is the real story. Rick Tyler was trying to spread some gobbledegook about the transcript was wrong, when Rubio’s comment was made TO PEOPLE IN THE CRUZ CAMPAIGN !
That’s disgusting! Holy man daddy and some staffer knew that it was a lie from the start, but they let the campaign go with it anyway.
What Republicans do not need is another Nixon.
(actually a lot of parallels there, both academically brilliant but unusually awkward for politicians. dirty tricksters as campaign advisers...)
Using French does not an argument make.
Your case is without evidence.
Twin folly, there are you happy?
Trump has offered a methodology. Now you might or might not BELIEVE that Trump is serious, but he seems to act like it.
If there is any trait of “personality” in this, it is optimism. But isn’t that what also propelled Ronald Reagan to his landslides?
And there is plenty of evidence. Cruz lives up to what Trump blasts him about.
"You know, the truth is I have a lot of illegals working for me in Miami'" he told them, using the term for undocumented immigrants those in the meeting found offensive. "You know in Miami, my golf course is tended by all these Hispanics - if it wasn't for them my lawn wouldn't be the lawn it is; it's the best lawn'" Pacheco recalled Trump saying.
He’s offered a methodology in opposition to numerous statements he’s made in the past. Also in opposition to the candidates he’s previously given large amounts of money too.
I think people are so tired of the status quo that they are willing to throw away this system the Founding Fathers gave us because they liked a speech.
“Read Romans Chapter 1.
The proliferation of homosexual perversion is actually a secondary, punitive, symptom of something else.
What is that?”
Idolatry
True, the Cruz campaign = lies, as the Bush campaign = low energy.
