Rick Tyler, the Senior Communications Advisor for Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), issued a public apology after spreading a false story reporting that Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) made a nasty comment to a Cruz staffer about the Bible.
"I want to apologize to Senator Marco Rubio for posting an inaccurate story about him here earlier today," Tyler wrote on Facebook after sharing the false story online. "The story misquoted a remark the Senator made to the staffer. I assumed wrongly that the story was correct."
The false report indicated that Rubio said that there were "not many answers" in the Bible -- when in fact, Rubio commented that "all the answers" were in the book of scripture.
Tyler indicated that he communicated with the Cruz staffer in the video, who explained that Rubio had made a "friendly and appropriate remark" about the Bible.
"Since the audio was unclear, I should not have assumed the story was correct," Tyler wrote. "I've deleted the post because I would not knowingly post a false story. But the fact remains that I did post it when I should have checked its accuracy first. I regret the mistake."

>>Once again he lies
No, a staffer made a tweet based upon a caption that was posted by student from a college “newspaper”.

Technology now enables both students and “professionals” to engage in the real-time manufacture of [false] post-modern perception.
How exactly is it Mr. Video Producer and Co. were at exactly the right spot and time to capture what he would then caption... inaccurately?
This sort of craftsmanship isn’t surprising given the realtime amoral nature that’s been engineered into Generation XBox...

This "staffer" was the Cruz Campaign COMMUNICATION DIRECTOR.
>>the creepy tone given off by Glenn Beck.
It’s unfortunate that media infolebrities still have such an influence over the American McSheeple’s decision making.
I think the internet will increasingly empower individuals to be part of the process - but that comes with new challenges, like students who make disputable captions on videos.
The general public hasn’t adapted to the landscape that requires evaluating that sort of real-time manipulation of their thinking... yet.
But “TRUTH IS GREAT AND WILL PREVAIL”.
Tyler should have vetted the Carson story as well, instead of just running with it because someone said it was CNN.
What do you suppose "the plan" was?
>> You disparage Cruz who is humble before God <<
Humble before God he may be. I certainly hope so, and it would be totally inappropriate for me to question Cruz’s status in that regard.
But humble before mankind? You gotta be kidding.
You mean politicians lie?
Holy smokes!!!! This should be in breaking news.
Some expected the Bible thumping candidate to adhere to a higher standard.
So you have an issue with Bible Thumpers?
I’ve herad his campaign make misstatements and in a couple of cases pass incorrect information. The only outright lie is the one this story is about and that wasn’t even Cruz.
I’d attribute this to an overzealous campaign worker. Sure Cruz is ultimately responsible but if you think ANY candidate has time to vet every single piece of information that goes out or that he’s handed during a campaign you are ignorant.
Trump has been just as creative with the facts as Cruz. Why don’t you debate the issues instead of the Trump campaign talking points?
Look at this comment from the frat punk "journalists" who posted and CAPTIONED the video:
"Wish we knew what book he was reading (perhaps Ted Cruz's A Time for Truth?) Comment below and take a guess at what you think he was reading."
http://www.thedp.com/blog/dpolitics/2016/02/marco-rubio-encounters-cruz-campaign-in-hampton-inn
Who does that tell us they were hoping to smear?
So evidently they later learned the book he was reading was the Bible.
Update: 2:18 a.m. on Feb. 21: A Cruz staffer just confirmed that the book in question was a Bible.
Ooops?
None-the-less the Anti-Cruizers will ignore the relevant facts and try to spin the slime for their advantage as usual.
At one time you were honest enough to acknowledge an outright lie on Cruz’ part. Obviously it’s slipped your mind. I’d refresh your memory, but first my condition has to be met. If I do indeed document a premeditated, malicious lie from Cruz, you have to post: “I acknowledge Ted Cruz is a liar.”
No one still following this thread should hold their breath.
Why should Cruz have to appologize when it's obvious the target the frat punk "journalists" who posted and CAPTIONED the video had in mind to slimewas CRUZ?
"Wish we knew what book he was reading (perhaps Ted Cruz's A Time for Truth?) Comment below and take a guess at what you think he was reading."

You’re pretty good at the alinsky tactics. Somehow you’ve turned this into something its not.
Which makes you a liar.
Explain your taunt?
They tend not to be as helpful as bible flippers.
Amazing how many people on FR have an issue with Christians.
Haha. I’ve seen Cruz supporters resort to many tactics to avoid acknowledging that their candidate lies. Yours is the most desperate to date.
Yep one more lie from you.
So was Trump lying when he said Planned Parenthood did many wonderful things? Or was he lying when he said he was pro-choice?
how about when he said he was for universal healthcare?
Or maybe it was when he signed business agreements promising to make payment but then had to seek protection from a bankruptcy court when he failed to make those promised payments.
We must all come together to now support our nominee, Donald Trump. This fighting and bickering is needless and futile. His nomination is ,of course , inevitable and this divisiveness is decreasing the margin by which he will win the presidency.
Good to see you walking back from that ledge. Now you are on standard, typical ground. I say I can document a wholesale, malicious Cruz lie, if you meet a certain precondition. You say, “Trump!”
That is the normal response, and only to be expected.
