"......Anyway, the factional nature of Trump's support reveals itself when you start looking at the overall vote totals and percentages. He's now at 31.9% of the popular vote, a strong lead by traditional standards but still a ways from the 45% level where frontrunners start to pull away, and the sooner the last two candidates stuck in single digits (Kasich and Carson) face reality, the sooner Rubio and/or Cruz can start consolidating the two-thirds of GOP voters who have yet to follow his flag:

Trump got crushed with the 37% of voters looking for a "shares my values" candidate (Cruz-Rubio-Trump 37-27-8), and the 15% who wanted a "win in November" candidate (Rubio-Trump-Cruz 47-21-17), so those are the pitches that are working best against him (note that this is a much better result on 'electability' for Rubio than in New Hampshire or Iowa); where both Cruz and Rubio need to work at Trump is the 31% of "can bring needed change" voters, who went 45-19-16 Trump-Cruz-Rubio.

While Trump's win looks big, it's actually the second-smallest margin of victory ever in the South Carolina Republican primary (to McCain in 2008) and the smallest percentage of the vote for a winner, and Trump got fewer actual votes than Newt Gingrich did in 2012 or McCain in a losing effort in 2000:".............................. “Like the Trump-Sanders supporter at the Cruz rally said, he’s not afraid of socialism”

*rolleyes*

So in other words, Cruz is losing and will continue to do so. I agree.

“Cruz did not win a single county in red red SC.”

You mean, “red red EVANGELICAL SC.” If he can’t win it there he can’t win it anywhere.

Anyhow, maybe Rubio should be the focus/target of all FReepers now. He’s sliding in and we have to start paying attention.

Obviously not an NBC/Wall Street Journal pole. Expect their’s soon saying Rubio in the lead, Cruz and Trump tied for distant second along with Kasich.

Another Trump supporting “genius” who hasn’t yet managed to figure out how to post a reply without those special characters appearing in it.

And since when has “rolleyes” been a word?

“wanted a “win in November” candidate (Rubio-Trump-Cruz 47-21-17)”

Obviously they did not sample me.

It’s Trump or Rubio. The Cruz strategy has totally failed. 72% Evangelicals and he couldn’t even snag 2nd place. And so now the strategy is apparently for mental patient Beck to insult Evangelicals. If you are still backing Cruz you need therapy.

Trump is a lock. They know it. Running for VP or cabinet job. Cruz supporters in denial.

When it comes to the general election...put a democrat up against a democrat...and the democrat wins every time.

The day after the election...the same folks supporting Trump will be lamenting that we need “A REAL CONSERVATIVE THIS TIME”.....NO REALLY....

Yes. Bernie goes back to his 1960’s hippie protest roots and Trump goes back to working deals with cronies. At least Bernie has always been honest about who he really is!

How could anyone be more liberal than:

-signing a liberalized California abortion law - 1967

-giving amnesty to millions of illegal aliens in America - 1986

-endorsing the Brady bill against the 2nd amendment - 1991
https://news.google.com/newspapers?id=UpwzAAAAIBAJ&sjid=0TIHAAAAIBAJ&pg=3945%2C5172761

-coming out in support of NAFTA - 1992

Yet Ronald Reagan did all of that

Being demeaning wins people over to your side so well!

How’s that working for you anti-Trump folks? Winning lots of converts?

Trump is no Reagan. Not even close. But enjoy 4 more years of an Obama like Presidency. As close to 10 million conservatives stay home this time.

They thought Romney was bad for turnout......

Bernie goes back to his 1960's hippie protest roots and Trump goes back to working deals with cronies.

"Trump's relationship with Russia goes far back. In 1987, before the collapse of the Soviet Union, he was meeting with Soviet officials and negotiating the building of "luxury hotels" in Moscow and Leningrad .

A story at the time said Trump had met Soviet Ambassador Yuri Dubinin, who mentioned how much his daughter had admired the "opulent" Trump Tower in New York City. This led to an invitation to Trump to visit the USSR. The story said Dubinin wrote a letter to Trump, who hosted a meeting with Soviet officials in New York.

The invitation to Moscow was issued by Intourist, the giant Soviet in-country travel organization which operated all the hotels for foreigners in the Soviet Union.

"...we are left thinking [whether] Trump understands the aggressive intentions of Vladimir Putin.

"...when Trump was asked about the nuclear balance with Russia during the most recent Republican presidential debate, he displayed ignorance of the decaying nature of the U.S. nuclear triad, which constitutes our ability to deter and survive a Russian nuclear first strike.

"Putin has just presided over a ceremony honoring the KGB's successor agencies, and the Russia Today (RT) propaganda channel has announced the grand opening of a "cultural center" dedicated to mass murderer Joseph Stalin.

It looks like Putin has outmaneuvered Obama and Trump. It is an opening for Trump's opponents, especially Senators Ted Cruz (R-TX) and Marco Rubio (R-FL). But do they have the courage to "follow the money" and hold Trump accountable for doing business with a criminal regime that threatens the survival of the United States? At the end of this money trail, they may find an explanation of why Trump is so reluctant to hold Putin responsible for his crimes.

Follow Trump's Money to Moscow
