The issue is not what they are going to pass, it’s what they already have passed. According to the laws on the books, Rubio and Cruz are natural born citizens.

Cruz offered a one on one with Trump but of course, Trump declined. He knows what would come out of that.

Do we really want Biff for 4 years?

Yes, Yes I do. Rather him than a Marty McFly. This grenade against the one world order get thrown right into the white house.

Funny picture I know some folks around here don't like the images. I think as long as posters don't put them on every thread it adds to the fun. Keep it up!

I fail to see any different between these two candidates:

Scalia said that to run for POTUS, not only the candidate, but the candidate's parents must have been born in the USA? I think not. I am familiar with the Constitution, having studied it extensively in law school.

No the parents didn't have to be born here they had to be citizens, naturalized or by birth. In America we have inheritance of citizenship by blood and by land. The inheritance by blood refers to becoming a citizen by being born to citizens or a single citizen parent.

We also obtain citizenship by being born in America (the land portion). Natural born citizens have both, citizenship by being born to citizens and being born in America or to a diplomat in service to America (has been stretched to military postings).

It is unclear whether children born in America are actually entitled become citizens just on the basis of their birth in America to alien or tourist parents. The 14th Amendment has been stretched to claim so but there is a movement to clarify this interpretation. It is not in America's interest. The United States and Canada are the only developed nations in the world to still offer Birthright Citizenship, the automatic granting of citizenship to children born within a nation's borders or territories to tourists and illegal aliens.

Could you show us that law? What you have said is untrue. There is no law saying that either is a NBC, in point of fact the odds of case law are stacked against them.

According to the Constitution at that time, citizenship descended from the father.

“But it does raise the question of Trump’s fidelity and loyalty to the United States when he marries non-citizens and produces non NBC children.”

There are quite a number of soldiers who dodged bullets who married non-citizens who would be ready to kick your ass for that statement.

“So it’s not the candidate who must be born in the USA, it’s the candidates PARENTS who must also be born here.”

No. The parents must be CITIZENS of the United States, as in citizen parents.

No.

Under the current interpretation of birthright citizenship, Marco Rubio is a citizen.

That isn’t the issue. He IS a citizen. The question is the qualification of Natural Born Citizen. Only the President and VP are held to this standard. Anyone born on US soil, regardless of parental status at birth is eligible. We have had a number of federal office holders who were citizens, but not natural born citizens, over the years, btw.

Trump just published the video. You haven’t bothered to listen or you would know it said parents were citizens. People CAN become citizens without being born here. As Trump mother did
You obviously aren’t a very good student if you can’t even follow the video. Or think Trump created it.

Yes, that’s why he is not eligible.

What's wrong with the 16th Amendment?

If the strict original intent fundamentalist adherence to every single phrase or clause of the constitution is sacrosanct to you, then nothing.

What she describes is textualism, which was the bedrock of every decision Justice Scalia made. And, she is right.

does a narcissistic, manipulative, pathological liar personality disqualify you from the Presidency?

No. So Cruz can run. At least on that front he's eligible.
