“I’ve talked to Iowa GOP attendees to around 40 different caucus locations. None reported more than the usual token numbers of crossovers from Dems. Surprisingly, a number of them mentioned knowing Republicans (mostly young) who crossed over to the Dems for 2016! Nobody has an explanation.”

Social Media has them convinced that the Free Schit Fairy is gonna make it rain on them. Free School, etc...

Yep.

I think that’s right. Peer pressure via social media. Neighbors know which caucus you were or weren’t at.

I believe it’s also peer pressure that turns out Iowa evangelicals; Iowa doesn’t actually have a greater proportion of evangelicals, they just turn out in a greater proportion.
