Well it is, but not in the way you predict. For one thing, I feel confident Trump will go 3rd Party if the GOPe finds a way to screw him over, “that I will tell you”.

Trump has the entire time been running 3rd party.

He needed a party platform and apparatus to run in. Independent to set up primaries etc, is very difficult. He just chose the Republican Party to run in, because we are the most pliable, and he knew it would be a large crowd to allow him an early lead with a populist message against a wide crowd of candidates. Pretty shrewd really.

Carson is actually the one I want to see do better than expected by 4 or 5%...I think that would shake things up a lot, but he said a while back that he’d probably exit the race unless he came in 3rd in one of the first three states.

I don’t know if 4th would do it, with Bush and Kasich dropping out. Maybe he’d stick around a bit longer then. At some point, the adults in the room might to say, “Okay, enough of the circular firing squad,” and give Carson a second look.
