Trump One Day Into Iraq Invasion: "It Looks Like A Tremendous Success"
BuzzFeed ^ | February 19, 2016 | Andrew Kaczynski

Posted on 02/19/2016 6:05:53 PM PST by ConservativeTeen

Donald Trump, faced with his own words from 2002 that directly contradict his claim he opposed an Iraq invasion early on, told CNN’s Anderson Cooper on Thursday night he opposed the war by the time it started.

But in an interview with Fox News’ Neil Cavuto one day into the Iraq invasion, Trump did not express his opposition to war, and said it appeared to be “a tremendous success from a military standpoint.” Trump predicted the war would continue to be great for Wall Street.

I opposed the invasion before the invasion. But like Trump I was on board once it was underway, there is no other rational position once our country has committed to it.

Trump 4 days after invasion. It’s a mess.

Donald Trump, with Amazonian beauty Melania Knauss at his side, pronounces on the war and the stock market: “If they keep fighting it the way they did today, they’re going to have a real problem.”

Looking as pensive as a “Nightline” talking head, the Donald concludes, “The war’s a mess,” before sweeping off into the crowd.

Once troops are dying on the battlefield all comments should be tempered and made in support of the mission. His remarks were spot on at the time.

Get lost

It was in fact a military success. If the military were only allowed to finish the job without the political maneuvering that only served to tie their hands, it would have been a better one.

America would never have a problem going after those who directly attack America. Saddam was never a threat to the U.S. On 911, most of those SOBs were Saudis and from SA. Big disconnect.

This thing reeked from the beginning.

Exactly, of course! Once troops are engaged, it’s wrong not to support the effort.

Also, let’s admit, due to the new aspect of ‘embedded journalists’ it had an awe-inspiring and thrilling component of feeling involved with the mission.

Trump was on with Neil Cavuto a few months before the war talking about how it would be better to go through the U.N. and that the economy was much more important than Iraq — sounding very skeptical of the push to war. And a week after it starts sounding very disheartened. So I don’t see that this disproves anything except that he wasn’t warning “loud and clear” about the destabilization in the Middle East, at least publicly.

Lie of omission;

“Also known as a continuing misrepresentation, a lie by omission occurs when an important fact is left out in order to foster a misconception. Lying by omission includes failures to correct pre-existing misconceptions.”

Here’s and example of Ted’s lies of omission, seven lies and misrepresentations in under three minutes. That is walking the talk “the most principled conservative in the race”???

Lie 1 - Pro-abortion and supporting partial birth abortion.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=RHgqFQ85uZs#t=197

Lie 2 - Trump is calling for the same socialized medicine as Sanders
https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=RHgqFQ85uZs#t=216

Lie 3 - pushed partial birth abortion
https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=RHgqFQ85uZs#t=239

Lie 4 - Even as a candidate Donald says we need to have full on socialized medicine
https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=RHgqFQ85uZs#t=298

Lie 5 - at the debates he said we ought to have socialized medicine like Canada and Scotland.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=RHgqFQ85uZs#t=302

Lie 6 - If you as a republican don’t support socialized medicine you are heartless.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=RHgqFQ85uZs#t=312

Lie 7 - If you want to see Bernie sanders style of socialized medicine Trump is your guy
https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=RHgqFQ85uZs#t=335

So ironic that the title of his book is “A Time For Truth”. Highly disappointed I bought it, and believed it. I wonder if he will give me a refund?
