Apple only needs to give the government a read out of what is in the phone.
If the phone yielded to saying supercalifragilisticexpialidocious over it, Apple wouldn’t need to tell anyone about that.
So then, do I understand correctly that this would not be any more of a “violation” of phone records than in the old days with analog phones?
It was common for police and FBI to “tap” phones or if a crime was committed, request calling records and such from the phone company.
Isn’t this really the same, a legitimate request for records, but in this case some technical intervention is needed, but the principle is the same as asking phone company for the history or details of caller’s activity?
