Tinfoil would be that it might have happened (at the CIA) but getting Apple involved would be a figleaf for the provenance of the data.
Cruz is wrong
F*ck you, Donald, I’m voting for Bozo: at least he admits he’s a clown.
Wow. What is the next shoe to drop?
I was very disappointed when I read that, though not terribly surprised; he spent a good chunk of his legal career as Texas' solicitor general, which would have put him on the prosecution's side in cases like this.
Apple is in the right here. And, I just noticed that my phone is due for an upgrade - maybe I'll buy a new iphone this weekend, to do my part to counteract this misguided boycott.
Then Cruz is wrong on this issue too. I really hate to see the only real conservative siding with the government on this. Haven’t we already lost enough of our privacy rights via this administration? Good grief.
Donald has a lot of enemies, Cruz less so... this points out the problem of any deep reformer today. He’s going to get so many enemies that his own progress will be imperiled.
I wish Donald well even though disagreeing with some places where he is, to greater or lesser extents. His main thrust seems to be sounder than many would suspect.
All the FBI needs to do is ask the Chinese Government to tell Apple to give them the information and Apple would hand it over to the Chinese in 10 hours.
Maybe they have but want to play by the rules and get permission. I don’t know.
The issue is that Apple is unwilling to assist. They have a monopoly and are taking advantage of it. They are soulless on this and on everything else.
THey will not come out of this well.
We know that the NSA spies on us and that many are willing to eschew the fourth amendment and that is unacceptable, yet when they have someone in their sites, the same agency defers to apple. Why?
They have no reason to tap my phone, they take it by having me sign some stupid waiver I have to sign if I want to join the real world and get on line. But it is certainly against privacy.
To be sure, I think this shouldn’t be being handled as a quasi criminal matter here. These orders should be coming from courts with war/defense/security jurisdiction. The mix of civilian and defense is also part of the pickle here. Treat war as WAR! Not as a crime!
What?
Im android.. Wifey is apple.. From ipod to iphone to itunes.. Now she wants to go ipad. Whats an android to do?
Cruz didn’t say to boycott Apple, but he did say that there is a court order for them to open this one phone that was used by the terrorist and he thought they should comply with that court order.
AH SO!
See? Trump is not all bad. j/k
Boycott the Big Apple? Works for me.
Cruz is no better. The only guy who had it right on this issue was Rand Paul.
I agreed with you, silly. Giving a reason.
Apple’s done it before, they’ve just been instructed to protect the Fraud’s terrorist BFFs.
Many here, unfortunately, likely unwittingly, are supporting the Fraud.
Apple unlocked at least 70 iPhones before refusing to hack into terrorist’s device
