Because you’re not a “rock-ribbed” conservative.

I have basically ONE reason and it is a lot simpler than this.

I AM SICK OF THE LIES FROM THE UNIPARTY and so if they are against him, I am for him.

Any article or commentary that starts with “I’m a rock-ribbed conservative” or “I’m a die-hard conservative” should immediately go in the trash.

JFK was a dashing and articulate Harvard graduate, and Nixon a sort of awkward

By most measures, JFK was to the right of Nixon.

All of the above AND it’s time to rock the GOP, a party who refuses to execute when the voters put them in office.

It’s going to take a strong, principled leader who doesn’t back down and is willing to convince both sides of his opinions. Not someone like Cruz who is known to talk down to people and act holier-than-thou (we already have that, and it’s not working). I do like Cruz though, but not as President.

.
Since when has Joan Swirsky been even faintly conservative?

Fairy tales are hard to suppress, once they are ingested.

America’s collective IQ is waaaay down that slippery slope.

I would like Trump much better if he was always careful in his speaking.

Politics is an art.

One of the essentials is to know the key issues down pat. George Bush, Jr. knew his talking points.

Another is to not insult or malign any group.

This is probably the last Presidential election we have a chance to win for about twenty-eight years, when the sons and daughters of our many immigrants will become mainly affluent Republicans.

Excellent post and is as true as truth can be. Trump is as real American not that elite corrupt bunch of sick pigs that are running America now.

Trump for President.

A rock ribbed conservative could support Trump, but a principled conservative would support Cruz...

Both men are qualified to be POTUS, and I would vote for either...

Trump isn't a principled conservative...

Bush, McCain and Romney were not neither and I voted for all of them...

Bush, Hillary, Cruz and Rubio are bought and paid for liars. These people will do what ever their puppeteers tell them to do. Only one man will do what he says. Remember this. All the rest are bought and paid for. Donald Trump is the only person who is not bought and paid for. He is self funding.

A decent read, a decent case.

Many of her points are what won me over to preferring Trump.

Once in office, I have full confidence, Mr. Trump would glassify ISIS into oblivion, take the oil they've stolen and give it to the families who have been destroyed by these psychotics. He would overturn and replace Obamacare in record time, build an impenetrable wall in record time to keep out the swarms of illegals who, again, Mr. Obama seems fatally attracted to. He would get rid of a half-dozen or more bloated government departments, reduce the tax code to less than 25 pages, and overturn all the Executive Orders Mr. Obama has inflicted on the nation in his eagerness to bypass the U.S. Congress and spit on the U.S. Constitution. Most important, Mr. Trump would immediately build up our military and promptly reverse the preposterous, Obama-dictated Rules of Engagement (i.e., don't shoot unless the other guy shoots first).

I have another suggestion: a minimum two-year moratorium on the DDT ban, so we can control the malaria mosquito, the Zika mosquito, and the growing bedbug epidemic. A common-sense president would prioritize human life and comfort over Rachel Carson's ancient drivel.

As for me, I'm as conservative as it gets, but Conservatives have failed me and our country.

So your solution is fairy tales about Mexico-funded walls, Terifficcare, and millions of manufacturing jobs flooding our shores?

ummm... perhaps because you’re gullible enough to take recent words of an narcissist, with a motivation of gain, over numerous prior words and actions, and therefore lack a basic understanding of human nature? Gamble away.

If the choice is between:

1) the party regulars who asked for, and received, on a silver platter, a majority in both Houses to stop Obama - and then failed to do anything of substance to stop him and his minions; or

2) a guy who’s never run for office, but who has substantial business experience (most of it highly successful, and he’s learned from his failures as any intelligent person should), who is somewhat all over the map on some policies BUT who is an unabashed nationalist who knows how to negotiate...

...then I’m taken Door #2. Door #1 has been a consistent loser, and shows no signs of changing (witness the pre-emptive cave-in on Obama’s upcoming nomination for Scalia’s seat).

The GOPe has failed, consistently, and they’ve lied out of every orifice to their voters (not their donors, mind you, just us ordinary voters)...and they need to reap the reward for their actions and inactions. Screw them, its time to take out the trash!

Maybe we should forgive Joan for her profound foolishness. After all, she is a dingbat New Yorker.

See my posts #71, 73,75, 77, and 79--especially 77 and 79.

RSN, this stuff is serious. And you are in it way over your head.
