I think if you read through this thread, you can see the outrage of many Catholics.
I will read through as you suggested.
I’m Orthodox myself and we are not perfect by any means. In fact. we quibble outside Church often, so often that it turns people away. In Church we are all united, but outside Church....oh boy!
I have Catholic relatives and I always say that I am so respectful of Roman Catholic history and especially the incredible things their priests and nuns have done to help so many, and to save so many lives and to bring light to the World where they can.
That said, the RCC seems structurally different in the sense that they cannot turn out their leaders when scandal flies around, whereas I have seen Orthodox priests turned out on the street in less than 24 hours.
So the Catholic faithful may indeed be outraged, but I don’t think there’s much they can do about it.
