Many years ago when the oil patch was slow, I was working for a geophysical survey outfit, ‘stomping’ and picking up jugs (geophones). While picking up a string of geophones I found a ground stone axe head. (Someone had walked right over it a couple of times while putting those geophones in place.)

Well Joe, take heart, Mel Fisher refused to give up, on that morning,as he usually did, he said "Today is the day." That day was the day, the found the Atocha!
His family will be wealthy forever.

I've got some coins that were found years ago, when a company was contracted to build communication equipment for Iran.
They are 100 AD and one of them, the one with the diadem on it, is scarce.

I found a wholly intact, Woodland era Pre-Cherokee piece of pottery in a rock shelter 30+ years ago while messing around in the woods. Archaeologists dated it between 500 BC to 500 AD.
Donated it to a college archaeology dept. several years ago.
