U.S. Rep. Tim Huelskamp has endorsed U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas for president.
"Ted Cruz is a full spectrum conservative that the people of Kansas should rally behind," Huelskamp, a Republican, said in a statement. "I have seen Senator Cruz stand up for conservative principles in Washington time and time again."
Cruz called Huelskamp an outspoken advocate for conservative social stances, including traditional marriage and protecting religious liberties.
"He is a man that has stood up to the Washington Cartel to fight for conservative principles," the Texas senator said. "Congressman Huelskamp has been a stalwart in the House of Representatives on issues that matter most for conservatives."
Huelskamp becomes the third member of Congress from Kansas to endorse a Republican candidate. Rep. Mike Pompeo has endorsed Sen. Marco Rubio and Rep. Lynn Jenkins endorsed businesswoman Carly Fiorina, who has since dropped out of the race. Neither of the state's U.S. senators has endorsed a presidential candidate, nor has Rep. Kevin Yoder.
Huelskamp is the 20th U.S. House member to endorse Cruz. The senator and victor of the Iowa caucuses hasn't yet received the endorsement of a fellow senator.
"Whether it's President Obama's illegal executive amnesty, Obamacare, or massive deficit spending, we can count on Ted to start making positive reforms his first day in office," Huelskamp said of Cruz. "He is not one of those 'campaign conservatives' who are all talk â he is a proven, principled conservative."
In 2014, Cruz stopped in Kansas to campaign for Sen. Pat Roberts, a fellow Republican, as he staved off a challenge from independent candidate Greg Orman.

Some of them got the go-ahead after Trump’s remarks on Bush. Same old games, same old players.
Wha? But NOBODY likes him!
Never heard of him.
There is a guy named Bill that works at the UPS Store near my house and he Endorses Cruz too!
lol keep endorsing him it ensures his loss how can you be a outsider when all the insiders want you elected
The irony here is Cruz didn't need to lie. If he had remained honest, he would still be competitive. Liars lie, they can't help it.— Bill Mitchell (@mitchellvii) February 17, 2016
I just find it odd that while the typical Cruz supporter is hyper-religious, they are utterly blind to his constant LYING. It's just weird.— Bill Mitchell (@mitchellvii) February 17, 2016
But Code Pinko endorsed Trump!
You made that up.
Do you hate all conservatives, or just those unwilling to throw their conservative principles aside in order to support your liberal idol, Trump?
He is the most conservative elected Representative or Senator from Kansas.
According to Trump, Cruz is hated by everyone he works with (so-called “insiders”), so how, according to you, do all the insiders want him elected?
He gets a few endorsements from staunch conservatives and that constitutes all the insiders?
Your cognitive dissonance is showing.

There are plenty of links that say the same thing, code Pinko loves Trump!
Trump supporters aren’t willing to support a Conservative candidate. They have already settled on one that is to the left of Mitt Romney.

Me, I’ll stick with Andrew McCarthy’s explanation on this one. http://www.nationalreview.com/corner/429356/ted-cruz-donald-trumps-canada-attack-has-no-worth
Kansas congressman. Conservative. Member of the Tea Party Caucus, the Freedom Caucus, and Liberty Caucus. He was one of the congressmen that Boehner booted off the Budget Committee when he opposed Boehner's re-election as speaker. He's got all the right enemies.
Thanks for filling me in. I had no idea.
