Tea party congressman calls senator 'a full spectrum conservative'

U.S. Rep. Tim Huelskamp has endorsed U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas for president.

"Ted Cruz is a full spectrum conservative that the people of Kansas should rally behind," Huelskamp, a Republican, said in a statement. "I have seen Senator Cruz stand up for conservative principles in Washington time and time again."

Cruz called Huelskamp an outspoken advocate for conservative social stances, including traditional marriage and protecting religious liberties.

"He is a man that has stood up to the Washington Cartel to fight for conservative principles," the Texas senator said. "Congressman Huelskamp has been a stalwart in the House of Representatives on issues that matter most for conservatives."

Huelskamp becomes the third member of Congress from Kansas to endorse a Republican candidate. Rep. Mike Pompeo has endorsed Sen. Marco Rubio and Rep. Lynn Jenkins endorsed businesswoman Carly Fiorina, who has since dropped out of the race. Neither of the state's U.S. senators has endorsed a presidential candidate, nor has Rep. Kevin Yoder.

Huelskamp is the 20th U.S. House member to endorse Cruz. The senator and victor of the Iowa caucuses hasn't yet received the endorsement of a fellow senator.

"Whether it's President Obama's illegal executive amnesty, Obamacare, or massive deficit spending, we can count on Ted to start making positive reforms his first day in office," Huelskamp said of Cruz. "He is not one of those 'campaign conservatives' who are all talk — he is a proven, principled conservative."

In 2014, Cruz stopped in Kansas to campaign for Sen. Pat Roberts, a fellow Republican, as he staved off a challenge from independent candidate Greg Orman.

Another “politician” for CRUZ??

I won’t mean a hill of beans. “Politicians” not only DO NOT CARRY any weight in this election, they CARRY A LIABILITY with the ‘pissed off’ electorate!

Do you hate all conservatives, or just those unwilling to throw their conservative principles aside in order to support your liberal idol, Trump?

Are you hateful, judgmental, and offensive to all conservatives or just those who don't agree with you.

Trump supporters aren’t willing to support a Conservative candidate. They have already settled on one that is to the left of Mitt Romney.

I'd place a large bet that the cross-over voters Trump is so proud of will cross-back to the democrat plantation in the general election. We will wind up with Bernie or Hillary.

The so-called conservatives on this forum and elsewhere who are throwing their hat in the ring with liberals during a primary, will find out just how wrong they are.

I have an idea - how about you actually look at facts and evidence, instead of picking and choosing “authorities” which you think will say what you want?

You do realize that all you did was pick your own ‘authority’ and post a link to her ‘decision’.

And a radical leftist authority you did pick. I forgot to mention another of her favorites:

If these are the types of people you routinely get your facts from, then it’s probably best if we part ways here.

Good luck to you.

If they receive a paycheck from the US government they are an insider in my book and what you see “showing” is my disgust with the current rulers

It's a guarantee. I see two things that can come out of Trump winning the GOP nomination. Either

1. Trump loses in November, giving us four more years of Democrat rule followed by eight years of Republican rule, or

2. Trump wins, which gives us four years of Trump followed by eight years of Democrat rule (which is in essence 12 years of Democrat rule)

Interesting, Trump has government contracts (as an owner of buildings the government leases, or from land he leases from the government) - does that make him an insider?

Sigh.

Facts are facts, regardless of who says them. The sky is still blue, whether a liberal or a conservative says so.

Likewise, common law is still the common law, regardless of who cites it.

I honestly don't know what's got into people around here, this blind devotion to an Obama clone.

I admit it, I enjoyed Trumps antics when he first came on the scene. They purged me of a long over due anger release and I found it very refreshing.

Now, his supporters have morphed into “THE HOUR OF HATE” that never ends...
