We had many of those books at home when I grew up, I remember Child’s Garden of Verses and AA Milne, for sure. Aesop and Anderson too. Happily ever after, my ass!! No sense in raising Pollyannas. Of course, not all the tales had abrupt endings. I loved to read, just loved it. Hours a day. Reading for comprehension is truly fundamental, and sadly, a pretty much lost art.
You are aware that the video games remarks were directed to Cruz aren’t you? I’m pretty positive that DJT has never played a video game. He plays golf and he play business. He could never sit still long enough to play a video game. I doubt he watches movies too.
Now he's playing games, because he's running for the presidency, which he is NOT legally permitted to do.
It is interesting you say Cruz and his wife seem to try to hard to imply they have a wonderful relationship. There was a video of them along with the children and Cruz Sr.... filming a political ad. It was embarrassing. The people giving direction would be telling them what to say, how to act... Etc. it was so fake. Their demeanor when the thought the cameras were not filming was completely different.
Oh come on...can you see Trump playing CANDY CRUSH into the wee hours of the A.M.? LOL
LOL, yes that is so cute.
Yes, I’m aware, but you made a very broad statement.
LOL...no Trump wouldn’t crash & burn in the same situation. The others might.
I’m good at making broad statements. I’m allowed because I’m very old. :o)
No I’m not saying that. I’m just saying you can’t put a broad statement about mental ability relating to video games. There are some very good logic and brain exercise “video games” out there. I don’t see Trump sitting down to play CoD.
Everybody stay focused. I’m out for tonight.
Like you, I read my eyes out and had been read to, extensively, before I could read myself. I come from a family that read and read and READ anything and everything and I wanted to be just like all of them.
When I was 6, my mother got a new book..."MONTAIGNE'S ESSAYS", which was heavily illustrated with Salvador Dali paintings. I was scared to death of those paintings, but also fascinated and obsessed by them. Much later, I read the book. :-)
By the time I was was 10, I had flown through ALL of Twain and Dickens, thanks, again, to my grandmother, who had gotten me hooked on Dumas pere and fils ( father and son ) and Shakespeare at a young age.
Okay, yes, I always read above my grade level and had sort of a strange childhood, but I'm thankful for it all and did my best to replicate it once I had progeny of myh owm and now with the grand.
As best I understand this, when a child is born in a foreign county when one parent is an American citizen, the Immigration and Nationality Law (INA) gives that child a lottery ticket--the best damn lottery ticket on the planet: a pathway to US citizenship.
To claim this prize, or US citizenship, the lottery ticket must be turned in. This is accomplished by filing a Consular Report of Birth or CRBA. This step must be taken, or there is no US citizenship.
It has been reported that in 1986 Ted Cruz needed a passport to travel overseas. When his Canadian birth certificate was presented, it was not sufficient for a US Passport (no surprise).
It was at this point that the necessary step in compliance with the INA law was completed - - - a CRBA was filed on behalf of the Canadian citizen, Ted Cruz, and he (finally) became a naturalized US citizen.
(To date, for any number of reasons, Cruz has not produced a copy of the CRBA.)
So Ted Cruz may have lied repeatedly. First, he said he was a natural born US citizen--and he was not. He was a natural born Canadian citizen.
Then he said there was nothing he had to do to become a US citizen (because of his mother). And, it seems he lied again. He had to fulfill the requirement of the Immigration law and file a Consular Report of Birth to become a naturalized citizen of the United States.
Natural born citizen, my --- well, you know.
Watching the replay of Trumps townhall. Great!!!!! He goes into soooo much detail on all positions/policies.
Politicians are actors first. They have to convince you that the product they are selling is GREAT, when the product they are selling is picking your pocket and taking your children.
And here, I was thinking ahead, and thought you were going to say "because I'm a broad."
Evidently, Cruz has been a PRODIGIOUS LIAR all of his life !
What are Teddy's plans and has he ANY positions he hasn't flip flopped and LIED about...ANY AT ALL ?
So unlike the Cruz girls!
Nooooooooooooooooooooooo....Trump watches movies and even makes his own popcorn! And I like his choices in movies! :-)
