Mr. T called in to Fox and Friends this morning and essentially said the same thing.
I was reading one of the Obama trashing Trump posts earlier and I don’t remember the poster’s name, but they said something like: Obama plays golf and Trump owns the courses.
I loved that and it is so true!
Good morning to you, Bray! I was thinking of tee shirts I may design for after Obama is out of the WH...
“I survived Obama Inc!”
I may now have to come up with one to reflect surviving the contention here at Free Republic. It’s been something.
“Obama plays golf and Trump owns the courses.”
That’s beautiful. I’m stealing it!
I don’t recall seeing you on these Trump rally threads before, but glad you could join us! Read your tag line. I’m so sorry you had to go through so much - fingers crossed and prayers up that you continue to be cancer free!
Loved it - thought it was too fun (and appropriate!).
I just watched Morning Joe for the first time this morning. They’re very positive about Trump! I quit watching Fox a few weeks ago - don’t miss them a bit.
I’m just a little confused - how is Mr. Trump going to hold a town hall tonight at 8 when he’s speaking somewhere at 7? Or has he turned that 7 o’clock speaking engagement into his town hall?
I was wondering that, too Judy. I was thinking that maybe his last appearance wouldn’t be long and perhaps Joe and Mika would fly down there. Maybe they’ll do the Town Hall from where is last rally is at - the Sumter County Civic Center - that way he won’t have to travel, plus, sometimes he does Q&A at his events.
Based on his current posted schedule, he has 2 tomorrow and 2 Friday and then will be in Nevada next week. I suspect he’ll make some appearances on Saturday when the vote is. I hope he gets a little much needed rest on Sunday and Monday.
Thank you Nikos.
I attended the rally in Beaufort, SC last night. Arrived at 5:00 and the fire marshal had already locked the doors. We were told we could go to an adjacent smaller theater where we could watch a live feed on a large tv set up on the stage. Those doors were closed at 5:25.
I was hoping for one of those stem-winder speeches, but it wasn’t the typical “rally” with loud music and the Donald pontificating. He was seated in a chair on the stage with one other person who asked a variety of questions. He answered questions for one hour without any notes or a teleprompter.
Trump was actually thoughtful, articulate and basically, the point of almost every answer was, “we need a common sense person not beholden to special interests who puts the interests of Americans at the top of the list.” He answered questions on the economy, tax policy, foreign policy, immigration, trade deals, ISIS, and more. He specifically referred to Pfizer going to Ireland and Carrier going to Mexico, noting that what the companies really want to do is to bring their “trillions” back here. He didn’t blame them for leaving, but instead acknowledged that if we would just have “people” get in the same room and hammer this out, we could keep these companies from leaving. He specifically addressed Boeing being forced to build a yuuuuge plant in China in order to win a contract to build planes and warned that having a plant in SC doesn’t mean anything if the pressure becomes too great to expand operations in China, Boeing would cave. I am not commenting on the validity of any of these ideas - just reporting them as I heard them espoused.
Trump was specifically asked about being conservative and he responded by saying that he IS conservative, but “let’s be serious, I HAD to contribute to everyone.” He also said he was pro Second Amendment - and repeated that claim several times - he wasn’t asked about Pro Choice.
The point I came away with was he isn’t beholden to any special interests. He said that he has already had people contact him, saying they want to be part of the solution to our myriad of problems. He gave specific examples of how our “politics” on both sides have hampered our negotiations on numerous fronts and people with business experience at least know how to negotiate. He specifically said that John Kerry is a “disaster” and that most of the guys in the administration could never keep a job in the real world - they would be fired :-)
The audience was very supportive - the yutes outside with signs protesting were pretty subdued, but I guess they decided they didn’t want to mess with a bunch of good ‘ol boys.
Actually, turning the end of his rally into a Q&A Town Hall would be perfect. I suspect this is what they’ll do, which is logistically and politically BRILLIANT. More free air time from MSNBC. You have to love the way this man thinks.
LOL!
The short, yellow plane for the gope.
Thanks. I guess God decided I couldn’t be who I am now, without going through a few trials.
Thank you for your on scene report! I watched the rally and it seemed to me like he did well (every answer off the cuff) and it looked/heard like he had a lot of support.
Absolutely - I believe he is thinking one step ahead of everyone else and that’s what has the other candidates and the MSM so flummoxed (which is a great thing and they hate it).
Thank you and good morning.
Did you know that right after the last debate, Trump sat down with a reporter from CBS and did an interview. Right after the debate? Trump is simply amazing.
There’s a saying that God only gives one what He thinks they can handle - doesn’t always seem fair and it’s often very challenging, but, as you say, it usually makes us a different (and usually better) person.
Best,
SC
That is what I always struck me about Trump. He is always 10 chess moves ahead of his opponents like he knows what they will do before they do it. And he always has the winning play before they do.
It looks like SC Evangelicals aren’t falling for Cruz’s creepy Jim Jonesish act.
Thanks PJ. A little less than 40 min to the 1st one.
