Sen. Thom Tillis is cautioning his Republican colleagues against reflexively blocking President Barack Obama's eventual Supreme Court nominee, warning of "the trap of being obstructionist."
While not discounting the notion that Obama could nominate someone with a similar resume and credentials as the late Justice Antonin Scalia, the North Carolina Republican elected in 2014 suggested in an interview with The Tyler Cralle Show on Tuesday that lawmakers should consider any nominee the president sends forth and approve or reject based on his or her merits.
An ideological replacement for Scalia is "unlikely to happen," Tillis conceded, "but I think we fall into the trap if we just simply say sight unseen-we fall into the trap of being obstructionist."

Grassley may send it out of his committee quickly too. They are already caving, but no one is surprised at the poor choice of the uninformed Republican primary voters from coast to coast and all points in between too.
God, I hate the Republican Party. Just absolute feckless morons.
FUTT.
I just sent Tillis this message:
“You continue to embarrass the people who voted for you.”
Such a replacement is GUARANTEED not to happen under this jerk of a president. So why take the chance? "Consider" his nominee; just make sure it takes until after November for you to reach any conclusion.
Senator Tillis’ Choices:
1) Act against the desires of those who elected you, destroying any chance of US survival as a semi-free country. The Leftist media will not hate you any less, will continue doing everything they can to get you out of office anyway, and will give you no positive press even if you vote to confirm the worst Progressive on Earth. But those who did vote for you will hate you for betraying them.
2) Act as those who put you in office want (that would be an electoral majority or you wouldn’t be Senator). But suffer the equivalent of a strongly worded memo from the Leftist media and groups that already hate you.
Apparently he thinks #1 is the way to go. Stupid and spineless is a bad combination. Is he paid off?
A lesson for the fools that support GOP Establishment Pawns, Cruz, Rubio, Bush, Kasich!!! A vote cast for any of these four....and, you have done nothing but keep the GOP Establishment in power to screw america at every turn!!! Idiots!!
GO DONALD TRUMP!!!
The Vichy Republicans had better not.
They just better not............
It’s beyond that. He’s pwned. He’s a puppet of the uniparty. It’s like they’re zombies. As soon as one mentions bipartisanship, you know they’ve gone to the dark side. Uniparty. Bipartisan. All the same thing. A pack of lies and liars.
It does indeed.
Cheap Labor Express stooge
NICE! Just in time to go to the polls to vote out his partner-in-crime, Burr (Rino). The one who will vote for Sanders if Trump takes to nomination. Go Greg Brannon ! ‘Eric Cantor’ Richard Burr...
This is the one chance for Republican legislators to
act for the Country rather than self! Delay, delay, delay:
The next President must choose a Supreme Court Justice
with the same originalist attitude that Scalia had or this country is toast!
Trump is disgusting.
Uh-oh !
Do you really need to ask that?
And so the collapse begins.
It’s just the Raleigh water, believe me.
That's proven to my satisfaction.
But it's wrong, IMO, to call them "Democrat lite".
There's just one party. The "Democrat" - "Republican" thing is an illusion.
“”that lawmakers should consider any nominee the president sends forth and approve or reject based on his or her merits.””
DUH! Not too swift for a senator, is he? Or just right for a senator? Has anyone even suggested that anyone whose name is sent up is automatically going to disappear into the trash can? Of course, consideration would be given and then the “boom would be lowered.” Who knows what will come out when nominees have their backgrounds investigated? It will be fun to watch. Remember in Clinton’s time just the mere mention of some names for nomination sent them scurrying for someone else...
