I can’t envision a circumstance under which I would have been willing to vote for Perot.

Enough people did and ended up 'blessing' us with a president Clinton.

The guy was far too petulant to put up with being anything other than a dictator. Projecting onto him a road better taken is nothing more than an exercise in creative thinking. There’s nothing wrong with creative thought, but don’t imagine that someone is going to be able to rise to the occasion simply because it would be nice if they did.

Besides, Perot was probably the single least capable candidate to handle the bully pulpit of any candidate that I’ve ever seen! Reagan OTOH excelled at it, and whaddya know, that’s also the skill being tested in this exercise of being elected!
