79 years is a good number of years.
My impression is that that Antonin Scalia decided he would prefer to eat, drink and be merry, in the conviviality and comradery of human companionship, than worry about dying at 89 as opposed to 79.

If he was unhealthy he should have retired and have a say in his replacement. Those symptoms are common at that age.
