Good man. Heart condition, high blood pressure, and went from his sea level home, to 4600 feet. Felt bad after the first day there. The last thing his system needed thinner air with less oxygen.
But glad his last day was a west Texas ranch, a ride around in a pickup, a Texas sunset and a steak. Then to die in his sleep.
Glad he was away from that DC cesspool. Sounds like he was at peace with his family too.
As someone who had a Widow Maker Heart attack, circa / On June 11th, 2010, I had a Heart Attack (Widow-Maker / Tomb-Stone Type.) Blockage of the Heart and a Blood Clot was removed. I Flat Lined two (2) time's and it was not looking good at all, as per E.M.T.'s and Emergency Room Personal. They were rightfully preparing Candace (my wife) for the worst. At the hospital (5 day's later) they did an Echo Cardiogram (Ultra Sound) of the Heart, and found that it was working at 30% of normal (a heart is measured @ a 70% scale.)
Yea, my attack was so much fun, I had another in / on A 2nd (second) Stent was put into my heart on May 11th, 2011.
I try to be very observant, but I missed the "sea level to 4600 feet," would be very taxing on the body, of someone not in the best of health. (That would include me.)

Marfa would be a great place to spend your last day.
Well said. May we all have such a peaceful passing doing what we enjoyed. May he rest in peace.
Where was he that he was at 4600 ft?
