Hogan Gidley: Trump ‘In the Driver’s Seat’ In South Carolina
breitbart.com ^ | February 15

Posted on 02/15/2016 8:16:49 PM PST by Helicondelta

Former Executive Director of the South Carolina Republican Party and past adviser for Mike Huckabee Hogan Gidley attended the recent Republican debate and agreed with frontrunner Donald Trump that the majority of the attendees, many of whom booed Trump repeatedly, were from the donor class.

"It was a stroke of genius by Donald Trump to say these are all donors, because they were. I was the Executive Director of party for awhile ... of course you give tickets to donors. The rank and file rarely get in. So, you do have a large establishment contingent in a crowd," Gidley said on Breitbart News Daily. He thinks the GOP establishment continues to deny the tremendous anger at the party across the base and is failing to respond accordingly.

Citing internal polls Gidley has seen from more than one candidate, he feels Trump is "in the driver's seat," up by somewhere from 10 - 15 points and running strong for now in South Carolina, while the raminign candidates are running head-to-head for second place.

Open primary. He is picking up the Code Pinkers and clintonistas. Remember, he can change to anything he wants..maybe he will be running as an independent in the not too distant future.

Good thing the GOP doesn’t have superdelegates or they would be pulling the same crap against Trump that the Dems are pulling against Sanders.

Trump will win SC and most if not all the Super Tuesday primaries. Bush will be gone or irrelevant after SC. Cruz and Rubio will be 2nd or 3rd. Cruz really needs to place second or he is in deep trouble going into the Super Tuesday contests because most of the Bush supporters will go to Rubio boosting his poll numbers. After the polls today showing no erosion in support for Trump it is hard seeing Cruz winning any of those voters. If Carson goes out I do not see many of his supporters moving to Cruz either.

This will quickly become a two person race between Rubio and Trump unless Cruz has a very good night against Rubio and closes the gap with Trump.

aCtually they do but it only represents about 6% of the delegates. Far fewer than the Dems. Unless Trump wins the election in November I expect the GOPe will significantly up that total the way the Dems did.

Trump is going to win Nevada handily. Rubio may finish 2nd.

I am not a "techie" by any means. I bought my first Mac in 1984, because I didn't want to learn the C> stuff. I was forced to learn enough HTML to post links and pics. Beyond that I will plead ignorance.

But, if you go to the FR Breaking news, they have link to the HTML Sandbox, the best way to learn. Try it!

Unless kasick does well. Then Trumps opposition will be split among 3 losers !

So why did the thin-skinned Trump make a point of that?

The modern debates are aimed at the viewing audience, not those in attendance at the debates.

Trump can’t handle boos or negative comments to anything he says. He’s fragile and someone like Putin could snap him like a twig with a few words.

Ted Cruz is no conservative. Mr Filibuster couldn’t be bothered when funding for Planned Parenthood was passed by the Senate to do anything at all.

He just sat there on his hands. The only thing he was conserving was his energy so he could run his faux campaign for president.

That’s why Trump is up double digits in the polls—cuz’ he is so thin-skinned. He stands up to the MSM and crushes them like bugs cuz’ he is so thin skinned. He’s winning by large numbers because he can’t handle boo’s or negative comments.

He’s been yugely successful his whole life because he’s thin-skinned, can’t handle boos or negative comments. Not.

Go Trump!

I don’t believe Kasich will be a factor outside Ohio. Ohio is a winner take all state and unless Trump implodes he will carry the state. It is the same with Michigan. Rubio or Trump will win Florida and California.

I am an Ohio resident, and there is no way I'm pulling the lever for the guy (unless he's standing on a scaffold).
