It is virtually impossible to be a natural born citizen of Canada and a natural born citizen of the United States. In what universe would that make sense?

Well, why isn’t he a natural born citizen of Cuba as well, he’s got the one Cuban parent.

I don’t think Cruz is a NBC of this country but it seems like some people disagree - I just hope they keep disagreeing if he somehow become the nominee. I’d vote for the Canadian/American/Cuban in heartbeat against Hilltard.

You are absolutely right and it defies rational logic how anyone can make such a claim. It is indisputable that Cruz was born in Canada in 1970. His mother was American and his father was a Cuban citizen. His mother’s citizenship is irrelevant because birthright citizenship is conferred via the father.

It can also not be disputed that Cruz was born in Canada and held Canadian citizenship until he renounced it a few years ago. In 1970, it would be impossible for Cruz to even be a US citizen, much less a NBC because at the time of his birth duel citizenship was prohibited in Canada.

IMO) Cruz was a NBC of Canada. As to his status in the US he is either a resident alien or at some point became a US naturalized citizen.
