Sorry but you are incorrect. Canadian law at the time required several years of residence in order to become a citizen. It was not legally POSSIBLE for Sen Cruz's mother to be a citizen of Canada. Even if she changed her citizenship later, at the time of Sen Cruz's birth, she was a US citizen.

Don't you think that if Ted Cruz's father could become a Naturalized Canadian his mother would also have met the requirements?

The only problem with that is that Rafael Cruz (Ted’s father) did not become a naturalized citizen of Canada until 1973 .... three years after Sen Cruz was born.
