Didn’t they embalm him within hours of his death? How can they get a good result from an autopsy? Hope they retained blood samples at least.

Someone from TX tell us... the standard procedure, which should include blood samples/enzymes testing. A kit done by EMS on site (even much later) and chain of custody of the samples.

No— it is NOT CIS “middle of nowhere” but there IS TX law describing what must be done— beyond “declaring” one dead.
Pronouncement can be done by any medical professional in most states. But, causality?

Well, let’s hope the personal physician’s statement, to be added to the Death Certificate later this week (with judbes decaration), gives some reasonable closure.
