I would have preferred an actual medical examiner.
And an autopsy.
My Dad died three years ago in his sleep at the age of 84 of complications of diabetes. No autopsy was necessary. He had a whole lot of health problems.
But my Dad wasn’t a conservative Supreme Court justice, whose sudden death has liberals chomping at the bit to further transform (read: destroy) this great nation. My father was just a regular citizen whose death wouldn’t change history.
There should have been an autopsy, considering the extreme political circumstances of the present, and very precarious, moment.
I have never heard any more suspicious sounding news reports in my life.
The way this was handled just looks amateurish and will give fodder to conspiracy theorists for a very long time if Obama makes a power grab or a critical nomination that tips the balance of the court for a generation.
The judge may have had the authority to do this, I don’t know. But it’s not something that would have happened if a president would have died under similar circumstances.
