What narrative? That every Republican in the Senate voted for Roberts and because Cruz supported him after his nomination was announced he bares sole responsibility for him?

Cruz replied, after being accused of supporting and promoting Roberts, that he "did not nominate him and would not nominate him." IOW, Cruz doesn't want to admit that he supported Roberts but wants to imply that he opposed him. IOW, Cruz is lying.

Cruz admitted to supporting him after Roberts was announced as did every Republican. Saying that he preferred someone else is his opinion. He wasn't in the Senate so who cares who he supported, he had no power to do anything.
