Ted Cruz has claimed a special skill at judging would-be Supreme Court nominees--but his praise of Justice Roberts in 2005 might call his judgment into question as the debate on who will replace Justice Antonin Scalia begins.
At tonight's Republican presidential debate, Ted Cruz tried valiantly to distance himself from his support for John Roberts's confirmation to the Supreme Court. But correspondence with his staff in the Texas solicitor general's office shows Cruz was just as enthusiastic as anyone about Roberts's prospects on the high court.
And though Cruz argued tonight that only he will have the special prescience necessary to pick SCOTUS nominees that will keep conservatives happy, his history of loving Roberts belies that. Roberts, of course, was the deciding vote in a 2012 Supreme Court case that upheld the Affordable Care Act's individual mandate--essentially ending the debate about the constitutionality of Obamacare.

Cruz worked with him and wrote a gushing op-ed for his confirmation. Read the thread, there are numerous examples listed that showed Roberts questionable background. Closely working with him, Ted should have known this. You called this tread worthless and dismissed it. The narrative is that anything that looks bad to Cruz is trivial or wrong and we should just move along.
If Cruz could NOT see Roberts as what he truly is made of, what in the hell makes him think that he could give us a conservative justice?
[BTW Trump was a registered Democrat when Roberts was confirmed so completely stupid to see his supporters go after Cruz when he was on the other side fighting WITH the enemy.]
I an not Donald Trump, I can point out something I see wrong with Cruz. Deflecting does not remove the fact that Cruz was involved with the appointment of Roberts and was suckered by him even though he knew him.

Are you kidding me with the “move along comment?”
Your boy says is for universal health care and his supporters say nothing. He just came out for Affirmative Action and nothing. He talking about cost for the wall at $8B - why express cost in USD, why not pesos? Nothing. Expanding Part D by going after big drug companies on pricing, EXACTLY what Bernie Sanders thinks....nothing. PP has some good points so don't defund the entire thing.......nothing.
Dispense with the nonsense Drone. Try thinking for yourself. You might like it.
Once again you seem to be mastering the only thing that Cruz supporters do, and that is deflect. I am not some rabid supporter who is willing to overlook any discrepancies of my candidate because Mark Levin and Glen Beck tell me to. I do think for myself, perhaps you should too. Turn off Levin (drone), he causes brain rot, and from the looks of it, you are suffering badly. Quit trying to deflect the issue at hand, Ted worked with Roberts and was so impressed that he wrote an op-ed championing him for the high court. No matter what you say about Trump, it will not diminish that. It also will not diminish the fact that Cruz is a junior senator with little experience aside from legal issues.
So under this standard we should excoriate Reagan for Sandra Day O'Connor? He nominated her so obviously his entire presidency should be flushed because he backed her......with the full faith of his office.
GWB nominated him, Cruz worked for the AG. The entire party was behind him based on the courts balance at the time. You want to re-write history and hang this on Cruz’ neck.....by the way never addressing any of the real ISSUES I brought up with Trump.....have fun then.
I was going to say if you consider yourself a Conservative then you would know Levin, while entitled to his opinions, is a Constitutional scholar so of course he's going to lean toward Cruz based on his history and against Trump based on his. It's that cut and dry.
But.....given you are narrow minded enough to rake Levin over the coals because he points out Trump's hypocrisy, no need to ask.
