Isn't and autopsy SOP?

No...unless there are suspicious circumstances surrounding the death (in this case there doesn't seem to be) and his family said, "no". Sometimes, a 79 year old dying is just that. Hell, he outlived my dad by 20 years. His family was fortunate to have him around this long.

For old people to die is typical... but to die alone, being that political powerful, an such a political covenant time for your opponents.....simple prudence's requires that you should check... any hint of wrong doing should be eliminated ..it not extraordinary to request an autopsy ... and in this case any hint could be far more then murder of one man...it could be a coup impact on every citizen of this country

At this level prudence requires you eliminate even the most remote possibilities....if you had a 79 year old US President that was in good health then was found dead alone...you would perform an autopsy to double check

.... the key term is "simple prudence" to eliminate any doubt for all concerned and all concerned in this case is every citizen of the United States...
