I thought unattended deaths pretty much everywhere required an autopsy.
Even Nelson Rockefeller, who died in the saddle stiff as a board as it were, had one in NYC. Medical community was all a buzz with salavious comments about that autotopsy.

Well, seeing as he seemed perfectly healthy just hours earlier, and he was a complete nobody with no importance at all, it seems unnecessary to even have a doctor simply glance at the body... much less go to all the trouble of an autopsy.

Heretofore, I've shared your same thought, with the exception of being under the close care of a doctor, and already having a diagnosed, life-ending disease or health issue.

He was doing what he liked to do, which was being outdoors. He had no apparent pain or distress in his death. While an absolute tragedy, it could have happened at worse places and worse circumstances than it happened here."
