Maybe some organization like the American Center for Law & Justice (ACLJ) could file a whopping lawsuit against the university for violating his civil rights.
Instead of asking for money, a settlement should require the university to make a statement denouncing “offensensitivity” and political correctness, and respecting the rights of the religious faithful to practice their faith free of academic, administrative, faculty or student harassment.
It should be widely published, and reiterated to students that they have DO NOT HAVE A RIGHT to *not* be offended by the free speech of others, and that efforts to shut down the free speech of others will be seriously punished. This includes any effort to disrupt a faculty or guest lecture or speech invited to be given on campus.
Very well said! This sort of PC correctness usually happens under the radar (FR excepted), and is becoming more and more common. If there is no push-back, soon it will be an ingrained, accepted norm. Then the First Amendment will then mean nothing.
And that's not an exaggeration. Consider the Tenth Amendment. It is little more than an historical curiosity now.
FIRE, Foundation for Individual Rights in Education, thefire.org also does this sort of lawsuit. And the Thomas More Law Center, www.thomasmore.org
