This report came out at about the time the property was sold:

The video at the link has a brief interview with a local resident who claims that Coking was holding out for $4 million for the property, a price Trump wasn’t willing to pay.
I think when the state formed the Casino Redevelopment board, finally getting rid of rooming houses was probably high on their list to try to turn Atlantic City around.
I haven't been to AC for about 10 years, but I can tell you that it was better then than it was 40 years ago.
---"If they give me a good price, I'll sell now," said Coking. "But they want it for nothing. It's location, location, location. They want to give me $250,000. You couldn't even get a condominium for that."
“a local resident who claims that Coking was holding out for $4 million for the property, a price Trump wasnât willing to pay.”
So the Trump haters want to pretend the poor old widow was holding out for emotional reasons, poor thing, when in reality, she just wanted a bigger check.
Yeh, feeling sorry for her. Not. In the end her stupid decision cost her money. Oh well.
