I have a little bit of advice for Cruz and Rubio tomorrow when it comes to defeating Trump. Some of the advice is tactical, but the more important advice is strategic. Attack Trump early, relentlessly, on everything, and never, ever stop. The tactical advice is that you should stop saying that Trump is for single-payer. That is too bloodless. Say that Trump was for a government-owned, and government-rationed, health care monopoly. Also try to work in the argument that Trump would give us the corruption of the Clintons with the huge government of Bernie Sanders.

NRO has been sophomoric from the outset. How could it be any better, relying on pampered been-nowhere-done-nothing prima donnas who have spent their lives writing opinions instead of experiencing reality first hand.
Donald Trump has accomplished more in any one given year than the aggregate of these twerps' lifetimes, yet they sit and act as if someone appointed them judges.
“Say that Trump was for a government-owned, and government-rationed, health care monopoly.”
In other words, tell a lie. His advice: “Say” anything in hopes that something sticks.
“Also try to work in the argument that Trump would give us the corruption of the Clintons with the huge government of Bernie Sanders.”
In other words, a mere assertion proves itself. Good 13th century logic.
This fools neglects to take into account the most important thing about Trump: he fights back. He doesn’t roll over.
Trump’s campaign message is concise, easy to remember, and have defined the boundaries of the entire election.
Going out there shouting “Trump want’s socialized medicine” is a STUPID move.
1) People know that’s not what he wants. Trump is so well-defined that it’s like saying that Q-Tips are made from bleached nose hairs.
2) It eats up your time because Trump’s support isn’t malleable, and wont be affected by a hit and run attack.
3) Trump likes the attention, and only needs to smile, and deliver what his view is, and wonder out-loud why his opponents cant read.
Rubio is going to go after Cruz out of revenge and because he wants to reverse his performance from NH. Carson will make the “good man wronged” plea. Bush will try at Trump, but will concentrate on Rubio. Cruz will be tangled up with Rubio. Kaitach (sp? whatever) will swing at the batch to try to cement his 2nd place showing and be the “not Trump”.
And if they’re not careful, some talk-radio “giants” could be joining them.
Very true! I find it amazing that these guys compare Trump to Bernie Sanders of all people. Trump is a guy who has built things and actually has created jobs. He’s used his wealth to create more wealth for hard working people, and his donations to politicians over the years fails in comparison to other billionaires like Bill Gates who have spent their surpluses developing programs for big government social engineering and calling it philanthropy.
I don’t understand the obsession with Trump having cut a few modest checks to the Clintons as being the sole reason to oppose him. Jeb Bush actually gave Hillary Clinton a prestigious award a few years back. I realize Ted Cruz has done nothing like this and his supporters use it as a comparison between he and Trump, but it is small potatoes.
Trump embodies the American way: hard work, investments, building things. I like Ted Cruz too, but it’s to deny that there is value in Trump’s accomplishments.
Rush has said in the past that he would run for president except he would hate the part where he would be restriced by the demands of donors. Trump is Rush L. taking the courage to run with his own money eliminating the dilemma of donor demand. This concept is so unique, that “conservatives” can’t wrap their head around it. Trump has demonstrated that “conservative” means courage and common sense, not just “ideology” that looks great on paper.
The Conservative Movement fails because here we have a group of conservatives turning their backs on a solidly conservative Senator who ran as a Tea Party candidate and unlike a lot of politicans he fought against Obama’s agenda and the establishment in his own party. So instead of the establishment picks like John McCain, you’re supporting what Breitbart called a celebrity candidate with no values, a record of being both liberal and Democrat, and nothing of substance. Some of us remember when Donald Trump was hitting Romney from the Left on immigration warning us his tough stance would cost him the Latino vote.
I don’t recall any debate were Romney took down Newt.
Trump has exposed what is literally required to be a business man in a liberal world. Is it his fault that New York is run by liberals... The dirty secret is that the Republicans play the same game... Demanding bribes for any business to stay in business to make sure the Republican wins the next election.
How many of Trumps employees (taxpayers) does it take to pay one year of Cruz's Senate salary?
Rush hangs with the same liberals that does Trump. Elton Jon wedding??? Seriously, people love to live to believe deception.
I know Cruz's Christianity run skin deep.... What Christian worth his/her salt goes begging for campaign dollars from a couple of homo billionaires in of all places New York City... Cruz sure did not go to them to convert them...
“. . .This is Bill Buckley’s conservative flagship . . ..”
Not for some time. W.F.B., Jr. is rolling in the grave over some of the things they say.
Oldplayer
What has the “conservative movement” done for the country since 1988? What has it done for the country since 2008? I await your answer.
Buckley’s son backed Obama
My goodness, where do you get the courage to say that cutting a few checks to the Clintons is just a minor detail but rightly point the real conservative here, Ted Cruz, wouldn’t even contemplate such a thing. You have to add the other names like Harry Reid, Ted Kennedy, John Kerry, Chuck Schumer, Charles Rangel, etc. His contributions and party affiliation make it abundantly clear hewas playing for the other team.
“I cannot believe youâre calling this advice sophomoric given that youâre supporting Donald Trump with all the rude and crude.”
Jeb is that you?
Welcome newbie joined last week, trying reading and learning before exposing that you’re a liberal.
If someone were to slip him some ipecac just before the debate then he would vomit all over. These NRO guys just are unable to think outside the box.
nothing wrong with cruz
But look up Andrew Jackson’s presidency
Crude and rude?
I am tired of conservatives bragging about how superior they are because they clean up after their rallies.
We are in a war.
I suspect that the pack will be too busy trying to figure which button to push on the rubiot to make it start repeating the same line.
Isn’t it awful that anyone is still trying to defeat the Donald, blessed by his holy name! After he won one primary we should have all bowed down and grovelled at his feet!
No but Rush avoided ever talking about the birther issue in a meaningful way, and had a homosexual preform at his wedding reception.
It’s pretty obvious, going by the results in NH, and the polling in SC, that NO ONE pays attention to NR either online or dead tree.
All the anti-Trump ads now being run by the Bush, and Cruz campaigns and their Super PAC allies, are pretty much a waste of time.
I think it is a safe bet that few of the tens of thousands who have turned out for Trump’s rallies the last week, even know that there is such a thing as the NR, and they don’t seem to be phased by all the attack ads either.
