All this confusion about standing. If Trump can show he is personally affected by the lack of clarity about Cruz’s constitutional status because of his being born in Canada, Trump has standing. Of course Trump’s standing has nothing to do with attack ads but Trump simply said he has standing, not he has standing because of the attack ads. He’s saying the attack ads, etc. may trigger him to file suit. I don’t think the standing thing is confusing but Trump’s rationale may be.

The fact is, it does look like Cruz needs to settle this issue. I mean if he was the GOP nominee for President and the Court ruled he wasn’t a natural born citizen, the election could be screwed.

I am sure the suit will work out as well as the Univision suit (undisclosed settlement, TRUMP got nothing)

"I have known Univision's President and CEO, Randy Falco, for more than 20 years and I'm glad we are able to put these differences behind us," Trump said. Falco said he'd known "Trump for many years in both a personal and professional capacity and we are pleased to settle this matter and move forward".

It is hard to take serious who Trump views as an enemy or friend. Now Trump is all buddy buddy with Univision...

He won’t do that, because then the issue would get settled and he couldn’t keep trotting it out whenever he was having a bad day.

I think he is just using the opportunity to push the Canadian issue again for more free press.

The bitterness in this tread against Trump is strong.

Trump still has a double digit lead in South Carolina.

Go Trump!

I just watched Donald Trump, The Movie. He’d sue anything that moved just because the threat of a lawsuit would be damning to his opponent. He’s an asshat. I hate him.

Trump may have standing but doesn’t have the stones to sue. Trump is all talk, and he’ll say anything.

I have standing to sue him for not being a natural born citizen

So do it & quit blabbing about it, oh mighty Orange One.

Trump threatens to sue Cruz (again) via twitter

Trump is wealthy enough to use a lawyer to sue rather than prosecute a lawsuit using Twitter ... t'would be interesting, though.

How about this, go to court, if the Donald wins, Ted drops out, if Ted wins, the Donald goes bye bye....no? Sounds great to me.

Trump has never won a defamation lawsuit, but he sure has lost more than a couple.

Biggest loss was to the guy who wrote “TrumpNation”.

Cruz must be closing in on Trump by a point or two in SC.

Trump should join the lawsuit filed in federal court in Alabama by 5 of his supporters.

He would give the lawsuit standing, and get the issue resolved once for all.

Trump should also join the lawsuit filed against Rubio too. Get these cases resolved on their merits instead of dismissed for standing.
