Can you fathom what will happen ( again ) if a doctrinaire (C)onservative goes down in flames? Take a guess as to what the GOPe RINO (R)epublicans will do to us.
GOPe Plan-A is to prevent any conservative from getting nominated, and they are exceedingly good at this by changing the rules.
GOPe Plan-B, not necessary for them to use recently, is to paint the conservative as Goldwater when they inevitably lose the general from both lack of party support, and the media onslaught of mining his televangelical speeches and various comments on abortion and gay marriage and every other liberal pet issue, and plastering them 24/7 on TV and online to scare away everyone except the narrow group of identifiable supporters.
This is the price of listening to Rush and Levin all these years. They have made us live in a bubble, imagining an electorate that is closer to 1984 than to 2016. It's as if 30+ years of illegal aliens and naturalizations have not even happened. They will feign surprise when the inevitable outcome happens again, voice their indignation and then go right back to jabbering away about pet boutique issues en route to the next election.
No? I'd venture to say not a single one of us have any idea what we are talking about, none whatsoever. If you did and you were correct Cruz would not be running, Rubio would not be running and O would not have reached a primary because it'd be settled law, cut and dry period. Until such time we (as in you me and other) have only that....opinions and nothing more. To state otherwise and make statements of fact when they do not exist make folks look quite silly. I'm mearly expressing the fact that NBC is all over the place and its interpretation is vague and not clearly defined.

I've said before, the "red" states that enjoy bible thumpers are already in our column. It is OH, PA, MI, WI, VA, FL, NC, IA, IN, NM, NV, CO that are the issue. McCain/Palin took 0/12, Romney/Ryan took 2/12 ( IN and NC ). It is NOT leftist to look at the map, it is LOGICAL.
We could still lose this thing, and I fear that people like Rush and Levin and presumably you who want to satisfy their desire to put an ideological choice on the ticket while refusing to even look at the damn electoral map are all about self-indulgence. NB: I know perfectly well that ideology had nothing to do with 1964, nor did the daisy ad, he did NOT lose because he was a conservative. He lost because of the JFK assassination. But that didn't matter to the GOPe and the media. Goldwater became the magic word to beat us down for two decades until Reagan came along.

P.S. Rush's style never bothered me, obviously Trump's lesser but similar style does not either. I'm no hypocrite. It is a common thing among successful people, pretty common here in New York, pretty common among celebrities, pretty common among politicians. Still and all, Rush is clearly the leader of the pack of bloviating self-worshipment. You cannot possibly disagree with that, right? Obviously you could never vote for Rush Limbaugh.
