A shot of whiskey or brandy with a teaspoon of honey is traditional for colds.
Whiskey, boiling water, honey, lemon juice, a slice of lemon studded with cloves and a stick of cinnamon. That WILL open up your nasal passage and probably help you sleep too. :-)
