I came to two uncomfortable conclusions about tonight's fiasco before I turned it off in disgust.

1. The Republican Establishment used the audience to take down Trump and Cruz, and elevate Bush, Rubio and Kasich. It succeeded.
2. CBS turned the "debate" into the Jerry Springer Show to take down the entire Republican field, make it look not ready for prime time, and show the nation that the Democrats were the only people who were presidential and ready to govern. It succeeded.

Surely that was their aim - I’m not sure how it’s going to play out.

Interestingly, Trump is dominating every on-line poll I see - even more than usual.
