I agree, but the problem becomes the overwhelming size and scope of the FedGov and the Executive branch. Did Bush know about the Gorelick Wall? Could he have? Does it matter since “the buck stops here”?

I have significant problems with Bush, but I’m not convinced that he could’ve stopped 9/11 but didn’t.

I only wanted to correct the "Bush caused" language. That overstates the blame-assignment. I'm not saying the blame assignment is valid, but at least it should be stated/summarized in a fair way. Otherwise the argument goes down a stupid rabbit hole. And yes, I do think the GWB regime came off as dolts. Rice comes out and says "we never thought people would use planes as weapons." Hello? Bojinka?
