Why would you combine Trump and Carson? Carson and Cruz are much more similar in their appeal.

Trump still doesn’t have a majority of votes and he’s not likely to cull voters from the social cons Carson and Cruz or the establishment Bush, Rubio and Kasich. Where is Trump going to get enough votes to get over 50%?

Because Cruz seems to hate Trump, lately.

Besides that, he gets to stay in the Senate if he isn’t VP, and that’s a reliable voice for a balanced budget, life, God, and guns.

AND, I really would like him in the Supreme Court some day. That would be FAR more useful than VP in the long run.

If he continues to have 44% or close to it of the vote, he will gobble up all the delegates. After March 15, it is winner take all, which means that Trump would get all the delegates from a particular state.

As long as the rest of the vote is split between the others, it is a cakewalk for Trump. McCain sewed up the nomination with only 33% of the vote.
