FORT MILL - With just a week left to persuade evangelical South Carolina voters that he is the only Republican alternative to Donald Trump, Ted Cruz and conservative pundit Glenn Beck thrilled more than 2,000 of the faithful late Thursday at MorningStar Fellowship, a Fort Mill megachurch.
Cruz vowed to be the dam that would stop a liberal wave, saying he will fight for the sanctity of marriage, return the military to strength, and secure the borders against a tide of illegal immigration.
"I will stop amnesty and secure the borders," Cruz told The Herald before the event. "I will stand and fight for the Constitution and the sanctity of marriage and religious liberty."
Despite the event's being organized in just 48 hours, Cruz' supporters lined up hours before the event and filled the sanctuary to hear the Texas senator promise to stop liberals dead in their tracks. The crowd jammed the balconies of the one-time hotel on what used to be the PTL ministry property.

On a conservative forum can we judge the candidates on the issues and not “likability?”
I can find you a lot of likable Democrats. Joe Biden for one. Would you vote for him over Cruz?
I find it really bizarre how people think Christians are supposed to be sinless.
People are Christians because they KNOW they are sinners.
Some our more filled by the holy spirit than others but everyone is a sinner.
Going to church doesn’t make you a Christian anymore than being charitable does.
Trading sin for Christ’s blood is what makes a person a Christian.
Anybody that denies their sin will experience a second death.
“secure the borders against a tide of illegal immigration” - huh? So just secure the borders? This is like Mitch McConnell saying the same thing. What about sending the illegals back? Just secure?
I am tired of Cruz now trying to steal Trump’s thunder now that Trump was the go to guy who brought the entire criminal alien, illegal alien, and now “refugees” issue front in center to the national campaign when all others were cowards and Trump had to take the brunt of the expected attacks, led of course by the Republican establishment, doesn’t matter if some politicians say they had spoken something about it in the past or said something in the Congressional record, no one, NO ONE brought this front and center like the great business man Donald Trump and considering also how everyone then tried to destroy his livelihood such as Macy’s et all, he is my hero forever now, and I cut up my Macy’s card.
By the way, has the flying saucer landed in the field yet to pick up the Beckers and fly them away as the death ray kills all those blue-eyed Trump demons?
Yea, that’s how it works. People select a king. ;-)
it’s time an ad went out all over evangelical land telling them Cruz went up to the married homosexual’s home in “NY values” Manhattan and had them write big checks for him as he told them restoring the sanctity of marriage wasn’t on the top of his priority list.. and I’d make sure all the evangelicals knew it in tomorrows debate,, then I’d tell the audience I’m sure he never told you those facts when he was trying to sway you to vote for him as he pretended to be such a great fellow Christian.. then see how they like being fooled by the oily candidate.. you can bet it’s coming
Kings are for Oligarchy’s. We have a Republic, assuming you still want one.
He is also accepting contributions from the Las Vegas gambling family, the Wynn’s.
Many Cruz supporters dinged Trump because he owned casinos.
Well I guess they can’t vote for Saint Ted now. Hypocrites.
You said people were selecting a king. Dummy. People don’t select a king. What a stupid statement. Another ignorant Cruz supporter.
Yes indeed, selecting a king is the mentality of sycophant Trump supporters.
Trump would be more king like than Obama is.
Go back to licking Ted’s boots. Your work here is done.
Ooh, someone is having a hissy fit.
2000 folks at a rally for Ted Cruz.....Wow!!! I’m really impressed, Ted!!! Heard you had Glenn Beck with at the rally. Did he give everyone of the loonies there, their ration of “Jim Jones” deadly Kool-Aid? Yep, Ted you and Glenn Beck are certainly two nutcase, “birds-of-a-feather”
Did God give up His throne so that you could be the judge of who is and who isn’t a Christian? I don’t think so. Trump gives to many charities and individuals. He just doesn’t toot his own horn over it - like others do. What business is of yours how much he gives and where he donates? It isn’t your business. Take care of your own household and stop judging others.
No one mistakes a collection plate for a communion plate - that is BS. Trump put in two $50 dollar bills in the collection plate. The media snooped. You believe what you want whether it’s true or not. The communion plates I’ve seen have individual glasses filled with juice - no way does anyone put money in those. You are one sick puppy!
Seriously. Just look at post #78. The vitrol is terrible! So many ugly mouths spouting off such vile, nasty comments. The more vile ones seem to come from Trump supporters. Filthy, vile towards other candidates. I in no way support Trump, could not ever vote for him, but I’ll be darn if I’d say such ugly, vile garbage about the man that I’ve heard spewed about Cruz and his supporters. Gonna get very ugly around here in the coming weeks. Very ugly, indeed...if that’s possible. Sadly, I know it is.
I am done with you but I still wish you well.
You have been aptly warned.
Anointing King Trump will lead America further down the path of ancient Israel. The Jews wanted a king too. They got it and it lead to destruction.
Or he could just book the Super Bowl...
>>(Ted Cruz: “ I’ll never have ‘a plane with my name” â¦(or a Presidential seal
How many activists in support of the homosexual community has Ted Cruz “discovered” — who then went on to sing the national anthem in preparation for the rainbow flag being hoisted up at the Super Bowl?
Is that like, ZERO?
C’ause evidently Der Donald “discovered” hi’self one:

I have no idea WTF you’re talking about or what it has to do with my tagline... But one thing’s for sure, your homophobia is sure shining through
But SIMPLY DISCOVERING a talent that happens to be gay...OUT OF THE QUESTION! < /sarcasm>
Hypocrite.
