When Ted was born, his parents hadnt’t lived in Canada long enough for them to get Canadian citizenship.

Ted’s mom was born in the u.s. and would have married her first husband well —after— the law changed about women losing their citizenship if they married a foreigner (even if they didn’t leave the u.s.). That law was no longer in effect.

How could she have become a British subject if she never left the u.s. till after she divorced him?

Ted’s dad got Canadian citizenship after Ted was born.

I know where Eleanor Darragh was born. That doesn’t matter if she renounced her U.S. citizenship when she married a Brit.
