Ted Cruz’s Integrity Trumps "Dirty Tricks"
Town Hall ^ | Feb 11, 2016 | Lee Culpepper

Posted on 02/11/2016 5:34:37 PM PST by SoConPubbie

While Donald Trump, the GOP Establishment, and the media scramble to undermine Ted Cruz's march to the White House, Cruz's super-fantastic-third-place finish in New Hampshire suggests undecided voters are recognizing that dignity, integrity, and fearlessness are at the core of Ted Cruz's principles and leadership.

It remains an enigma, for me at least, how the Cruz campaign's decision to share CNN's breaking report -- which irrefutably questioned Carson's seriousness about winning the election minutes before the Iowa Caucus began -- turned in to Ted Cruz's "dirty trick."

In fact, the media, Donald Trump, and even Dr. Carson have done a great job burying the reality that caucuses are set up to give supporters the opportunity to persuade one another to get behind the candidate they support. Hence, the Cruz campaign's directive to share CNN's report. After each candidate's supporters make their cases, everyone lines up and the supporters are counted up in front of God and everyone else who is attending. There is no privacy to the voting.

Consequently, the real "dirty trick" is pretending that Carson's supporters were not immediately able to shoot down CNN's report along with the Cruz campaign's bogus conclusion about what it suggested. It's not like Carson supporters don't have smart phones. The entire controversy that Carson's performance might have been negatively affected is an absolute hoax. It is a "dirty trick" that is clearly being used to torpedo the proven Washington outsider, Ted Cruz.

Granted, Dr. Carson probably felt a lot like Ted Cruz did when Donald Trump tried to "steal" votes from Cruz by erroneously speculating that Cruz was not eligible to become president. Carson also probably felt a lot like Ted Cruz did when Marco Rubio tried to "steal" votes from Cruz by falsely alleging that Cruz is a fellow GOP amnesty lover -- just like Rubio still is.

However, unlike Donald Trump and Marco Rubio, Ted Cruz had the common decency to apologize and the integrity and courage to take responsibility for his staff member's erroneous conclusion concerning CNN's report.

I didn't bother to read the whole thing since I wasn't sure if it was satire or serious. "Super" fantastic? "Suggests undecided voters are recognizing...."?

Cruz lost every demographic to Trump. His only strong numbers were with "very conservative" voters, not undecideds. And he still lost "very conservative" voters to Trump by 12 percent, according to CNN's exit polls.

You notice how this clown is using this weird "super fantastic" language, like some kind of campaign commercial or marketing ad, and he uses it to emphasize a statement that would make Baghdad Bob proud?

Has to be satire.

Valid counterpoints to all of the anti-Cruz slander posted lately. Thanks for posting.

Oh good grief.
Cruz is not lying, not doing anything outside the law to run his campaign.
What I find interesting is trump supporters are not telling the policies to the world but just tearing the other candidates down.
Stop telling me why blah blah blah is bad, tell me why trump should be the choice, don’t use slogans (they mean zip), tell me actual policies.

As he happily walked away with Carson caucus goers.

Hmm? I guess dirty tricks have replaced principle. Or maybe it is just that principle justifies dirty tricks.

This guy shouldn’t use word for which he does not comprehend their meaning. I mean dignity, integrity, and fearlessness are not words I would ascribe to Cruz. Oh, maybe fearlessness (but again in might just be stupidity) to lie so profusely.

tell me actual policies.

They are actually very close to Cruz's.

Cruz adds more details on immigration policy than Trump but it also requires faith that Cruz is the man to actually implement his agenda.

The track record of recent and past conservative republicans hasn't been real strong in that regard.

Interesting how today suddenly "conservative" republicans have come under fire. Lock step.

“The hate on this board for Ted Cruz is disgusting.”

But it’s justified by his behavior! He’s gone sleazy and it is not an admirable trait. I really liked Ted at the beginning, but I’ve grown to dislike him based on his behavior. It’s only a good thing that I would still prefer him to Hillary or Bernie.

As he happily walked away with Carson caucus goers.

And walked away from New Hampshire blaming the liberal voters in the state for his loss rather than his inability to sell his conservative vision.

Maybe it's not the message Ted, maybe it's the messenger.

These same people trashing Cruz on just about every thread lately & obviously have no problem with Trump saying he would love to have Oprah as his vice- president. If that doesn’t scare the hell out of people I do t know what will.
