In previous primary contests on FR, things were a bit different. The people pushing the eventual “establishment” candidates often got purged, and the rest of us, who may have favored different candidates, were generally united when it came to opposing the “establishment” guy who eventually ended up with the nomination.
Sure, we begrudgingly pulled together to support the nominee (most of us anyway), but we didn’t have a contingent of FReepers who won lording it over a contingent who lost, we were all losers trying to make the best of our losing hand together. I’m not sure things will follow the same dynamic in this circumstance.
Yeh I think the Cruzers will get over it just like the Newters (me included) got over it in 2012. If your guy isn’t making it he isn’t making it.
Personally I think Trump is going to make a lot of Cruzers happy when its all said and done. He’s going to turn out not to be the big Lib they have worked themselves up to believe. Just like Ted is not quite the big Conservative they all want to believe in.
