Our childhood were so similar. Had to plead my case just to visit a neighbor. But it truly established critical thinking and analysis.

Back in my day, the neighbor MOM could kick my ass without asking my mom! The Moms TALKED and everyone knew each other’s kids. If I did something wrong, my Mom knew about it before I got home!

Our neighborhoods were peaceful and without violence. We had Mom Patrol on duty.

It certainly DID encourage critical thinking and NOT talking rubbish.
