I agree with most of what you wrote, I don’t think that the Donald is stupid, however.
All one needs do is peruse the comments here on FR. I used to enjoy the lively and substantive debate. Now it’s Trump, Trump, Trump, all day, every day.

Remember our allies
Terrorize our enemies
The list could go on, but why. DT will have a plan and it will solve all the nation’s ills. It will be so great I’ll be tired of it being so great.

I too want know DT position on those issues. Undoubtedly, I will disagree with a few of them. But at least I can weigh them and make a decision on facts not feelings.
One might ask how waving the Constitution around will solve any of those problems either? It will take a leader that can bring the people to the conclusion that these things are desirable, then pressure the Congress to do it. Cruz will never be able to do that, but I would not be unwilling to give him the opportunity to try.
We should be a lot more concerned with the following that Bernie is gathering than we should be worrying about Trump.
