Thank you for posting that. The lesson is very clear: people who depend on the state to protect them find themselves with nowhere to turn when the state betrays them. People who can protect themselves from the the marauders have a chance to change the state peacefully, and if necessary to protect themselves from the state as well. The French once knew this.
