Conservatism is not my top priority. Saving the country is. What good is pure ideology without the leadership qualities that would be necessary to carry the principles out?

Trump is running on conservative issues. As the cliche accurately has it, most of these issues would not be mentioned were it not for Trump.

Trump is putting his money where his mouth is. That use to mean something.

Cruz goes about collecting large sums of money from groups that oppose his campaign rhetoric. What do they know? No one passes out money to a politician that they know will oppose their lobby efforts.

Well said. For instance, I like Ben Carson. But he has no chance of winning the general. This is about saving the country. And I don’t think Cruz can win the general, either. I do think Trump can.

“As the cliche accurately has it, most of these issues would not be mentioned were it not for Trump.”

THAT is why Trump is the best conservative running.

Does a conservative have no immigration policy for months? Cruz was silent while Trump talked about deportation, walls, crimes, stealing jobs. A real conservative wouldn’t just sit back and be silent.

Cruz even condescendingly said ‘The American people don’t want to have that conversation.” - about what to do with the illegals here. That he’d discuss that later. Funny, that is also what Rubio is saying too!

“Trump is putting his money where his mouth is.”

Debatable. He uses other’s money first. I was reading about him promising to build the greatest golf course in the world in Scotland. It’s lost money the last 3 years.

But there is always Dubai...

“Damac said the project would have an estimated development value of Dh9 billion and that it intended to finance half of the scheme through off-plan property sales.

It added that it would also possibly seek bank loans to finance the project due to its size.”

I would say Nationalism is my priority.

This election is about Nationalism vs Globalism.

Trump presents himself as a Nationalist even if he has had policies that are not orthodox conservative. Though socialist, Sanders is far more Nationalist than Hillary (who is knee-deep with the finance clique and the CFR-types).

If this country and its politics doesn’t take a Nationalist turn, it will be game over for the country, game over for our Constitutional system, and game over by definition, for conservatism.
